Emma Smith
Busy Wednesday

Emma swiftly brushed past the many other busy people on the street sidewalks to reach her destination. This time she was going to get her sub sandwich, and hopefully she wouldn’t miss the clothing time by a male dropping from the sky with wings. Speaking of the guy with wings, he had dropped her pretty quick.

With the snap of his fingers she had trusted him enough to meet him at a club, but he quickly blended into the crowd with other girls to dance, and when the night was over she was left alone like a naive young girl trying to impress in jeans and a black sweater.

She clenched her teeth and shouldered someone as they came her way. That had ruined her mood, and also reminded her why she didn’t date boys anymore. They were all predictable, one and the same. The wind blew her hair around uncomfortably, and she crossed her arms to see if it would help her move faster to her destination.

Today she couldn’t waste much time wandering around, because she had an interview to go to for a part-time job. Sure it would bump her schedule and make everything she did in the day more tight fitting and close together, but she would be getting more money than she was receiving now, and that was the goal.

A few more corner turns and blocks to walk and she finally reached her destination.  Gingerly she pushed the door open and stepped into the small line that had formed in front of the register. It thinned quickly, and she was then able to make her order of half an Italian sub with a small salad.

Her order was up and ready before her thoughts could drift elsewhere, and so she found a quiet place to sit and begin to eat as she glanced around the perimeter of the homey sub shop.
